Septum piercing: puncture,
decoration and aftercare
A septum piercing is a nose piercing that sits pretty much in the middle of your nose, in the sweet spot.
Piercers call the soft tissue piece the sweet spot, not because this part of the nose is sweeter, but because it should hurt less. This kind of body art is not a new trend. Many indigenous peoples in America and Africa have used this technique since ancient times. The Mayan, Aztec, and Inca Indians used to put gold rings in their nostrils for religious ceremonies.
The indigenous inhabitants of the South Pacific Islands punctured and wore gemstone-decorated animal bones and tusks. The ornament testified to the bravery and victories of the warriors.
In Western culture, septum piercing appeared in the 1970s, and was associated with bohemian images, hippie and punk. Today the puncture is still popular, as evidenced by the star examples. Septum piercing was chosen by celebrities Scarlett Johansson, Rihanna, Jessica Beale, Zoe Kravitz.

Other types of jewelry:

- Circular barbell. Looks like a horseshoe with fixing balls or spikes on both ends. These decorations vary the diameter of the ring and the size of the balls.
Some barbells are decorated with diamond-shaped beads or neon-colored inserts. An added benefit of the solution is the ability to hide the ornament if necessary. For this you only need to raise the ends of the rod up, where they are completely hidden in the nose.
