The arm allows the design to be adapted to both a compact idea and a larger composition. Before the session, the size, placement and level of detail can be discussed.
The design can be adapted to the specific area of the leg and its proportions. When choosing the size, both the concept and the shape of the composition are taken into account.
The back is well suited to projects that need more space for the composition and details. The design can be adapted to the selected area of the back and the intended scale.
With neck tattoos, careful attention to scale, shape and exact placement is essential. The design is adjusted to the selected area so it follows the natural proportions and contours of the neck.
A sleeve tattoo requires thoughtful planning, as the individual elements need to work together as part of one larger composition. The entire concept can be developed as a unified project from the outset.
In minimalist designs, the balance between linework, shape and negative space is essential. The sketch is adapted so that the idea remains clear even within a simple composition.
Below are the tattoo styles we work with. You can always get a free consultation to choose the style that suits you best.
The session starts with a discussion of your idea and the preparation of the design. Before tattooing begins, the artist confirms the final sketch, size and placement with you, then carries out the work step by step and concludes the session with clear aftercare guidance.
The artist discusses your idea, style, size and tattoo placement with you. If needed, the design is adapted to the chosen body area and the specific requirements of the project.
Before starting, the artist prepares the selected area of skin and transfers the approved stencil to check its placement, scale and composition.
Once everything has been finalised, the artist begins tattooing. The length of the session depends on the tattoo’s size, complexity, technique used and the specific requirements of the project.
After the session, the artist treats the tattooed area and explains how to care for it during the healing period, what to avoid, and when to seek additional advice if needed.
A well-planned tattoo begins long before the session itself. At VEAN TATTOO, we help you shape the project step by step: from choosing the right artist and developing your idea to deciding on the style, size and placement, so you have a clear understanding of the process before the work starts.
We match each project with an artist whose experience and approach suit the style, complexity and specific needs of the design. If your idea would benefit from a different direction, this can be discussed before the session is booked.
The artist will refine the design to suit your chosen placement, scale and body shape, making sure the proportions and details work naturally within that specific area.
The artist will help adapt the design to your chosen body area, size and anatomy, so the details and overall composition work naturally with that specific placement.

Read moreA collection of reference images does not need to look like a finished tattoo project. In fact, references can be more useful when they show different aspects of the idea: one may demonstrate the composition, another a specific motif, while a third may show the level of detail you prefer.
When planning a tattoo in Riga Old Town, these visual cues can be used to define the direction without simply reproducing an existing piece. The final design can then be developed around your own preferences and the body area where the tattoo will actually be placed.
This is also the stage where proportions become important. A design that works well as a large image may need to be simplified for a smaller format, while a compact motif may need to be restructured if it is enlarged significantly. Considering these details early helps create a project that feels intentional rather than adapted at the last moment.
Not every tattoo has to remain a standalone piece. Some projects eventually become part of a sleeve, a larger back composition or a group of connected designs. If there is a possibility that you may add to the tattoo later, the initial placement can be planned with that in mind.
This does not mean the entire future project has to be decided at once. It simply helps avoid using space in a way that limits later options. The scale, orientation and surrounding area can all influence how easily new elements can be added in the future.
Tattoo prices in Riga Old Town depend on the individual project rather than a single fixed parameter. Size, complexity, placement, amount of detail and the time required all contribute to the final cost. Once the concept and approximate format are clear, it becomes easier to discuss the expected scope and price before booking.
The price is based on the individual project. The tattoo’s size, amount of detail, complexity, selected body area and the time required can all influence the final cost. A more accurate estimate can be provided once the idea or initial design has been discussed.
No. A finished sketch is not required. You can come with an idea, a description of the motif or several visual references. During the consultation, the size, composition, details and most suitable placement can be discussed and refined.
The size should be considered together with the placement and complexity of the design. Fine details may need more space, while a simpler composition can often work at a smaller scale. The proportions can be adjusted to suit the selected body area.
Yes. A project can be designed with future additions in mind. This is especially useful for larger compositions such as sleeves or back tattoos, where planning the position of the first elements can leave enough space for the design to develop later.
Images, sketches or other references that help explain your idea can be useful. It also helps to think about the approximate size and body area beforehand. The clearer the general direction is, the easier it becomes to discuss the project in detail.
The studio is located at Mazā Monētu iela 2, Rīga, LV-1050, in Riga Old Town. House of the Blackheads and St. Peter’s Church are nearby landmarks, while Grēcinieku iela can be used as a public transport reference point.
